Our Story

We first crossed paths around 2010/2011, while attending COZA Ilorin. Taiye had seen me at church a few times, but we didn’t speak until one day he gave me and my friend (Olamide) a ride to church. After that, we started talking more often, carpooling to church and school, and quickly discovered we had similar interests. We remained friends, and our bond grew naturally over time.

Church assignments brought us closer, and even after I moved to Lagos in 2016, Taiye soon followed. Our friendship continued, not the everyday kind, but a deep, genuine connection. In 2024, everything changed when I visited Ilorin for a wedding. We hung out like usual, but this time, something was different. For the first time, we discussed the possibility of getting closer. It was a bit awkward, but from that point, we became more intentional.

When I returned to Lagos, Taiye didn’t give me much breathing room (kidding, sort of). By April, he finally expressed his feelings, and thank goodness he did! After praying and consulting our pastors and families, everything felt right. Now, we’re here, planning our forever.

Cheers to a lifetime together 🥂
